Maine teaser

Wesley, Charles, Morgan, and I took a trip to Maine with Grandma and Grandpa Cowles this past week.  Actually, today is our last day and then we drive back tomorrow.  Grandma Pataky asked for a photo teaser since we have a decent internet connection at our cottage hotel.  Here are a couple of photos.  We'll post more when we get home.

The view from the beach at Emery's Cottages (where Alan and Linda are staying).  Charles, Wesley, and Linda are down at the water's edge.

Wesley LOVED looking through the rocks and shells for interesting things on the beach.  He found this huge piece of seaweed lettuce and had to see what it tasted like.  Yuck!

Mom and Wesley walking on the beach.  He got surprisingly good at walking on the uneven rocks, seaweed, and barnacles by the end of the week.  We still held his hand to make sure he didn't fall and scrape up his knees.  (The barnacles were really sharp)

Dad and Morgan on top of Cascade Mountain.  The highest point on the Atlantic Coast.  A beautiful view of Bar Harbor and the surrounding area.

Showing Wesley the big horses that pulled the carriages for tours through Acadia National Park.  (We didn't take a ride, but stopped to see the horses)

Hat pictures

Grandma Cowles got Wesley a train conductor Oshkosh hat that he has recently started wearing. He asks for it by tapping his head with his hand (the baby sign for hat). He loves running (literally) around the house wearing it.

This one turned out to be a little out of focus, but the action shot of him running with the hat so far over his eyes was irresistible. I had to post it.

Wesley was sick this weekend with a 102 fever off and on part of Saturday and all of Sunday. He was most comfortable in nothing but his diaper and was treated to getting his pacifier for most of the day (he usually only gets it for sleeping).

Going gangster style.

Yes, I will eventually take my pacifier out of my mouth.

Bubbles!!!

Wesley's latest word is Bubbles, pronounced correctly as "Buh buh". He LOVES bubbles and starts asking for them as soon as we walk into his room. Actually, he loves to watch Morgan chase down the bubbles. She sometimes doesn't watch where she's going and runs into us. The safe zone is sitting between my legs like at the start of the video.

I have no idea where the bouncing thing came from in the second half of the video, but he seemed to be in a really good mood and was expressing it by bouncing along on the floor.

Laundry basket rides

One of Wesley's favorite activities is taking rides in the laundry basket up and down the hall. Sometimes he makes the vroom vroom noise. Other times, like the one shown here, he makes seemingly random noises. They probably mean something to him, but I have no idea what he's trying to say.

Bathtime Buckethead

Wesley has recently learned the baby sign for hat (tapping your head) and he notices hats on people everywhere. I thought he was going to give himself a concussion at the grocery store last Saturday with how many times he told me people were wearing hats. ALL of the workers at Wegman's wear hats.

During a bath this weekend, he decided his bucket made a good hat. And that the baby in the video (himself) was cute wearing it. If you listening closely, you can also hear him say "Uh uh". Which is supposed to be "uh oh" but he doesn't say the oh part yet. He says it right after he drops the bucket.
