Picking out toys at our last swim class. Grandma and Grandpa Cowles came to watch!
Splashing Dad. What a great action shot!
As a special treat for the last class, the kids got to wear this little life jackets and float around in a big boat. There were five kids in the class and only two could fit per boat ride. Wesley got to go by himself! The room was pretty dark, so those pictures didn't turn out so well.
Mom and Wesley after swim class.
Floating in my life jacket. Cheeeeesssse!
Wesley at the children's petting zoo. (No worries, he just looked. No touching)
The goat was itching his butt on the water tank. Lovely.
Wesley's favorite part. The monkey house! Here he's watching some spider monkeys jump around the trees.
Watching the elephants walk around.
Outside the baboon cage. Wesley was screeching and making noises all day. Here he is mid-screech.

Wesley was sick on his birthday but finally started feeling better this weekend. I made him a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting on Sunday and he got to have some with dinner last night. He definitely seemed to know exactly what to do with the cake despite this being his first cake experience. (He was being a little cranky at this point in the evening if you're wondering why he's fussy in the video before we give him the cake. I think he was tired.)

Wesley and I were sick all week with a stomach bug and he was still sick on his birthday on Friday. (We're both finally feeling better today) But, Dad brought home a bunch of balloons and that made him feel better for a little while. Wesley loves bright colored things. He always wants to go check out the red, orange, yellow, and blue flags used to mark utility lines around our apartment complex when we're out for walks with the dog. So, we're not too surprised that balloons are a huge hit too.
Of course, being the one year old he is, he also wanted to put the balloons in his mouth. No worries grandparents, we didn't let him.

Morgan enjoying the warm weather and a big stick to drag around.
Having fun on the swing at the park across the street.
The swing is WAY more fun this time than when it was cold outside last time.
We had him cracking up by tickling him while he was swinging.
Showing us that he sees the doggie. (Baby sign for 'doggie' is to pant with your tongue out)
Crazy swing hair.
