I took this video a few weeks ago. Wes was just waking up from a nap and had somehow managed to get both thumbs in his mouth at the same time. It was too cute to pass up. The picture is a little dark since the window shades were closed, but I think you can still see him pretty well.

Aunt Ann arrived last night for a visit with Baby Wesley.
Wesley smacking around the rattles on his activity mat. The Illini outfit he's wearing today is a 3-6 month size onesie. He hardly fits in most of the 0-3 month sized clothes. He's really getting big quickly.
More rattles to hit. He notices the rattles. Stares them down. Then slowly moves his arm around trying to hit them. I think most (if not all) successful hits are accidental, but he's trying. And can follow the moving rattles with his eyes once they start swinging.
A shot of his hair loss during some "tummy time" exercise.
We introduced a pacifier and a bottle last week. The pacifier (even though we're using it sparingly) has really helped calm him down when he's gassy or overly tired. Dad enjoys feeding him with the bottle now too.
Another shot of Aunt Ann with Wesley.

I'm THIS big! (I couldn't figure out how to rotate the picture. My version is turned the right way.)
Zonked out in my swing.
Sound asleep. He didn't even flinch at the flash.
Wes had his one month checkup on Friday. He's now 12lbs and 23 inches long. That's the 90-95 percentile for both! What a big guy! He also had another HepB vaccine. I managed to traumatize the poor kid beforehand by scraping the top of his head as I got him out of his car-carrier. He immediately started screaming. I think it ended up being louder than the scream he gave during the actual shot. Fortunately he calmed down within only five minutes afterwards. Still, I felt super guilty. Poor guy gets four shots next month. Ouch!

Happy after a bath.
More bathtime pictures
Wes has lost a lot of hair on the top of his head. He still has most of the hair on the sides and back, but even that is starting to go now too. He looks a little like an old man with a receding hairline. We'll see what color his hair is when it comes back in.

Tell me the truth... Does my swing make my face look fat?
I love NY!
Me and teddy
Wide eyed at the idea of going for a walk.
Wes is now three weeks old and definitely showing signs of change already. He keeps his eyes open much longer now and can focus on us and other interesting objects in his line of sight. His face is filling out quickly too. Nice cheeks to pinch!
Hope everyone is doing well. We're still pretty tired most of the time, but improving on a daily basis. (Or just adjusting to a lack of sleep. Either way, it's getting better.)
