One Week old

It's hard to believe it's been one week already, but we celebrated Wes' one week birthday last night at 7:01pm.  I doubt the tradition will continue every week but it was fun.  Plus, I got to have a small glass of champagne for the first time in a long time.

Here are some more pictures of the little guy.  He's doing really well.  We had another doctor's visit today and he had gained 6 ounces in the last three days!  We had to take him in again because he had only gained 1/2 ounce a day on the last visit (1/2 to 1 ounce a day is normal).  They just wanted to make sure he was eating all right.  At a 2 ounce weight gain per day, I'd say he's doing just fine.

Enjoy the new pictures!

One week old!  Finally opened the champagne we bought in France two years ago.  What a good reason to celebrate!

Mom and Wes.

Grandma and Wes.  He likes being on his stomach a lot.

Stretching in his sleep.

He's starting to focus in on things better now.  Like the little blue hanging toy he's fascinated by on his activity mat.  He likes the cardinal too.  (I wonder if that means he'll be a Cardinals fan like Mom)

Sucking his thumb.  He can also fit his entire fist in his mouth.  What a talented guy!

Hi. It's Caro from France! I agree : it's a good idea to open a Champagne bottle for Wesley 's first week birthday. I remember when and where you bought this bottle (We were together...). Good remembering. In France, some families give a little drop of champagne to a new baby... See you next summer for opening another bottle together!
